Start walking through the forest. You come across a wood elf being attacked by bees. Time for you to help him out.
-FIGHT-
Hopefully you made it through that OK. Don't worry if you were poisoned because we're going to take care of that in a bit. For now you have no choice but to follow the wood elf to the intrance of the Tree Village.
DO NOT go into the Tree Village entrance yet. Instead, it's time to go HOLIX hunting. Go back the way the wood elf just brought you then head W. Pick up all HOLIX you see and continue to follow the path through the forest. Don't worry, there aren't any enemies here and you can't really get lost.
Be sure an grab the TOOL (plants) growing in the NE part of the Forest (see pic). Using them can heal certain illnesses.
Eventually, you should come to the end of the path and end up back on the world map. Notice you can now go to the port city of Marah. You can go there now and upgrade your armor and weapons if you wish. Don't bother starting anything else there because you have to finish up the Forest first. Soooo...back to the world map and return the the Forest.
Work your way back through the Forest, collecting HOLIX and TOOLs as you go along. The HOLIX in the outer Forest area will regenerate each time you go through the Forest and out to the world map. I recommend working your way through the Forest a few times to grab as many as you want. When you get tired of that, go back to the place where the wood elf took you earlier.
Enter the tree. SAVE POINT here.
Go down the ladder, through the tunnel and up ladder. Exit tree.
Follow the signpost to the Tree Village.
Enter the tree and go up the ladder. Talk to the elf in bed.
Work you way clockwise around the village and go down to the center. Sit down on the open stump and talk to the elves. Choose first answer.
-CUT SCENE-
Swordmaster Olga will now join you on your quest unless you are playing as swordsman(?).
Up stairs and counterclockwise to exit. Bees everywhere!
-FIGHT-
Don't waste healing potions yet. We're coming to a place where you can do that for free!
Follow the path and enter the tree (see pic). Down ladder, through tunnel, up ladder to SAVE POINT.
Exit the tree and follow the path W, S, then E. Bees again!
-FIGHT-
Notice this ring of rocks on the ground? (see pic) Stand in the middle and press Button I for a full Recovery! Also be sure and pick up the TREASURE N of the heal point.
Enter the giant tree to the Bee Hive
-FIGHT-
Don't forget, you can step back outside to the heal point at any time for free health recovery!
We've come to our first real "dungeon" of the game. Even though there are multiple paths and boxes to open all over the place, I'll just tell you now that they are all empty. There are however two pieces of TREASURE to get. Try to follow along and I'll help you get them as quickly as possible so we can move on to more interesting parts of the game. Heck, I'm even going to show you pics to help out.
See the pic with the "A","B",and "C" on it? (see pic) Good, let's go down stairs "C".
Follow the path and down the next set of stairs.
Drop down the first hole on your left (see pic).
Go W and pick up TREASURE [Silver Coin] lying on the ground.
Back E and up the stairs. Follow path and up next stairs.
Go through door (see pic) then follow path and up stairs. You should now be at the top of stairs "B".
Go back to stairs "C" and down again. Follow path and down next stairs.
Head N and drop through hole here. (see pic)
Grab the TREASURE [Gold Rock] lying on the ground and then follow the path and up the stairs.
Follow the N path, W, then S and through the door. Go up the stairs.
Follow path here then down the stairs. Having fun yet? Don't worry, we're almost there.
Head E and then N through the pillars (see pic). Go W to bee fight.
-FIGHT-
Talk to the wood elf then head back E then N to SAVE POINT.
Attempt to go through hole here and Olga will talk to you. When she's had her say, head on through the hole.
Work your way down the path to the Queen Bee! (see pic)
-BOSS FIGHT-
-CUT SCENE-
Talk to everyone here to recieve TREASURE [Ruby] and TREASURE [Silver Coin]. Exit the Tree Village.
Go N at sign and into tree. (see pic) Go down the ladder, throught the tunnel, and up the ladder to SAVE POINT. Exit tree then exit the Outer Forest Area.
Now that we're back on the world map, time to move on to the port city of Marah.
